The OLPH Faith Formation Program seeks to provide children with a thorough understanding of the Catholic faith that is relevant for the age and maturity of the students and a necessary component for them to grow in the virtues of faith, hope, and above all love. The ultimate end for which all persons are created is to enter into a meaningful relationship with God. This can only be fully realized with an awareness of who God is and who we are as His greatest creation.
Traditional Method:
Grade 1 – 8: Traditional Catechesis is Catechist lead instruction. Students attend class on campus weekly from September to April/May. Instruction includes using a Diocesan-approved curriculum with reviews to measure a student’s knowledge, Bible, crafts, family activity days, spiritual formation days, and family days.
Home School:
Parents are the primary educators of their children’s faith. With the assistance of the Director of Religious Education, the home school program uses the same curriculum as the traditional method program and submits works and reviews monthly. Home School students are required to attend all Family Activity Days and Liturgical celebrations the entire Formation program attends.
